GREG NORTHCOTT
Executive Vice President

  • As Executive Vice President of MasTec Canada, Greg provides the strategic direction and the overall vision for the organization.

    With 15+ years of experience in Engineering, Construction and Environmental Services sectors he has held various leadership roles in finance, project management and operations. Greg has led multi-disciplinary teams executing on significant, complex infrastructure projects across Canada.

    His passion for bringing together integrated and high-performing teams to create innovative and collaborative cultures, attributes to his career success in achieving results in client engagement, profitability and cash generation while promoting a culture of safety, inclusivity and well-being.

    He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and International Business from McGill University and a CPA designation.

 

RORY VASELENAK
Vice President Finance

  • Rory leads MasTec Canada’s finance and supply chain teams and is responsible for financial reporting, accounting, tax, treasury and SCM.

    He has provided formal leadership to Financial Accountants, Project Accountants, Production Accounting, Accounts Payable, Invoice Attesters, Compliance Auditors, Reporting Analysts, Information Management and Procurement staff.

 

BRAD CHANDLER
Director, Construction Support Services

  • Brad is the Director of Construction Support Services overseeing the Estimating Department, Project Controls Department, and Project Management Office.

    He has spent over three decades in the construction Industry beginning his career in concrete high rise construction working with tower cranes, progressing to increasingly senior positions in both operations and management. Brad joined MasTec Canada in 2016 as the Manager of the Civil and Concrete Division overseeing large projects in Industrial, Infrastructure and transmission projects in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northern Manitoba and Newfoundland.

    Brad excels at team building and as Director of Construction Support Services, is proud to work in a high functioning group that provides best practice estimating methodology to report on the performance of a project that can be proactively governed and used to maintain financial and schedule accountability.

 
 
Rod Sobchisin

ROD SOBCHISHIN
Managing Director Business Development

  • Rod joined MasTec Canada in the role of Director of Business Development in 2020. He was then appointed Managing Director Business Development in 2022 and is responsible for customer account management, sales and Indigenous Relations.

    Rod has a proven track record of delivering results in the Oil and Energy industry. His successful experience includes finding client solutions in the pursuit of business growth opportunities in construction, fabrication and maintenance with skills in strategy, business development, team building, leadership, communication, negotiation and culture development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Calgary.

 

CHRIS STAMP
Manager, Corporate HSE

  • Chris is the Corporate HSE Manager overseeing development and implementation of MasTec Canada’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

    His 23+ years of work experience spans the oil and gas, utilities, industrial construction, and mining industries, which includes roles on both the owner and contractor side. Chris’ understanding and passion for safety, coupled with a ‘team’ attitude, has allowed him to observe best-in-class results. His objective is simple – to protect people and the environment – comes with a mentality to challenge status quo and retains a commitment for continuous improvement.

    Chris holds a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation through the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, is an Occupational Health and Safety graduate from the University of New Brunswick, and completed the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program through the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

 

CARLOS PLAZAS
Director of Quality

  • Carlos is responsible for the preparation, implementation and maintenance of MasTec Canada’s Quality program.

    His 22+ years of experience includes various Quality Manager roles within multicultural organizations: corporately or in projects, at the Home Office or at the construction site, from the EPC side and from the owner’s side. Conversant with industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, CSA, ABSA among others). He is self-motivated, goal driven and a team player who works well under pressure and adapts to new processes/procedures easily.

    Carlos is a licensed Professional Engineer (PEng) and a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).

 
 

JOANNE ARTHURS
Manager, Talent and Technology Services

  • As Manager, Talent and Technology Services of MasTec Canada, Joanne oversees three function groups (Information Technology, Human Resources, and Payroll/Benefits) and ensures support in various employment matters.

    With 15+ years of experience in Compensation, Payroll and Benefits in multiple industries in both Private and Public sectors, she has held various leadership roles. Joanne has led engaged teams executing on significant, complex projects and implementations, touching on Canadian, USA and International Payrolls.

    Her passion for bringing together cohesive high-performing teams to create collaborative and enjoyable workplaces, attributes to her career success in achieving results in employee engagement, trust and while promoting a culture of psychological safety, inclusivity, and well-being.

    She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, Accounting Diploma, and a National Payroll Institute PCP designation.

 

DENVER BRUST
Associate General Counsel

  • Denver Brust is Associate General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Privacy Officer for MasTec Canada, responsible for legal operations, commercial contracts, corporate governance and privacy.

    Denver was previously General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for an engineering, procurement and construction company operating in Western Canada, and joined MasTec Canada in 2021 to manage and head Canadian legal operations. Denver has significant experience in construction law, commercial litigation, business functions and operations, insurance, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance. Prior to becoming in-house counsel, Denver was an associate in the Construction, Engineering, Surety and Fidelity practice group with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Calgary, Alberta.

    Denver is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, and holds a bachelor of arts in history and economics, as well as a law degree from the University of Alberta
